Hi :) I'm buying a GTX 970 very soon, I was originally going to be getting the MSI model of the GTX 970, but after checking today, the Gigabyte version of the GTX 970 is cheaper, and has 3 cooling fans instead of just the 2 fans like the MSI model has.

Can you please help me decide between them? What are the pros and cons? I find it hard to believe that they are the same, because more cooling fans is surely better, so I would expect the price to be more expensive, but it's not. It's cheaper... It seems too good to be true almost.

The links are here so that you can see the difference between them.

Thanks

Both will perform almost exactly the same. The MSI has a better cooler and if you plan to overclock it is probably the better choice. The Gigabyte card uses three fans but it isn't the same cooler they use on their G1 Gaming card, it uses a less dense heatsink and is missing two heat pipes.

Same GPU architecture is going to yield similar results. The 970 is no exception, all the 970s will perform similarly. I would choose between;

Gigabyte G1 Gaming
Asus Strix OC
EVGA SSC or FTW
MSI (the red one, gaming?)

In my opinion go with the cheapest but like I said man all 970s will perform similarly.
