Help choosing gpu and ram for skyrim

I need a graphics card and ram and will mostly use for playing skyrim and some other not so graphic intensive games. (civ, TF2) unfortantly i am on a very tight budget of $130. any suggestions?

If you plan on staying at that low of resolution, you should be fine with something in the HD 6750 range.

I'm guessing most games will play at max settings with those cards at that resolution. Spend the left over cash on RAM. You only need 4GB to play most of todays games.

Although a single 4GB stick of memory won't allow dual channel operation, there is evidence that it isn't all that much of a setback. But being somewhat of a skeptic, I prefer going dual channel. And you're assuming his board will accept DDR3.

dual channel doesnt affect performance that much but yes, he can always put another stick to run in dual channel
