Help Choosing GTX 960 vs 1070 (Building a PC)

Hello. I'm planning on upgrading my current PC (Old q6700 and gt730) with a much newer and stable platform. I will upgrade to a i5 6500 which is going to be paired with a H110 motherboard and 1 stick of 8GB DDR4 HyperX Fury Black.
I've currently got a 500W SuperFlower PSU (SF-500P12N).I am thinking of getting a GTX 960 4GB from Gigabyte (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5507#ov) because it's a super nice deal here in Romania but I took in consideration the new Pascal GPU's that are going to appear somewhere in Q2 of this year (From what I heard).I am asking if a newer 16nm GTX 1070 is going to run on my PSU.

16nm automatically means less power draw, close to half probably.

You can't buy or test what does not exist. Anyone who answers you on how a non-existant CPU will work with your system is making stuff up. They don't know. No one does. We can guess and say it will probably work. Die shrinks almost always mean a reduction in the power requirements of at least that one component. But there is more to a GFX card than a single chip. Will all the other components be equally optimized? And so on...
Then there is the likely premium price of a just released product. You can sit on the side lines for ever perennially waiting for the next big thing. There is always going to be a next big thing. I'm not saying that the 10x0 cards won't be nice. But, how long from when they are eventually released will you be able to get one and at what price?

it's only lower power for a given amount of compute capacity, so it could be the same power as now, but being more capable.

Thank you guys for helping me! I think I'm going to pick the gtx 960 because I want to get this PC built by the beggining of the summer.If Pascal is going to bring huge improvements then I will sell my gtx 960 and buy a Pascal one.

My upgrade to Radeon R9 290 made my Battlefield experience something really amazing while I know that the GeForce 960 (comparable to my old Radeon) is nowhere near the kind of performance you'll see out of R9 290/GeForce 970 hardware.

I think the question you should be asking yourself is: should you throw another 150 dollars towards a gtx 970, or, wait to see what the 1060 will be like. The gtx 960/R9280/R9380 tier is surprisingly handicapped in terms of performance.

That being said, there should be a price correction very soon (as a result of Pascal technology seeing light) so I would hold off and monitor prices over the next 2 months. My 290 died a week ago so I'm personally looking for a gtx 970 or R9 390 price drop.

Id say 1070 because its going to be faster if not equal to a titan
