If you want a good gaming headset that's 100% bang for the buck, consider getting one Natec Genesis HX66.They might seem cheap and useless, that's what I was thinking too,but when I got them and I tried them they were just excellent. They have 7.1 virtual surround sound (which works great) and noise-cancelling earpads. It's microphone is pretty OK,as my friends can hear me clearly on skype. However,if you want excellent mic,you should just buy a separate mic.

Sorry, never did see it was for music, not gaming.

For gaming you obviusly need surround, but thats really not a usefull feature for "just" music.

Ask someone more HiFi oriented elsewhere on the internet than this lot i think.

^ Actually you don't. A good pair of headphones with a wide soundstage in stereo is often preferred over surround software.

@OP What is your budget for the headset? Would you be ok using a pair of headphones and attaching a mic to them? It will be a better option compared to buying one of the "gaming" headsets you listed.

100$ or less
also i intend to get a separate mic later for 100$.i considered blue snowball mic which i will buy next month
for now i want a headset for 100$ preferably surround sound. But getting only music ones should not be a problem
