Hello, yesterday i wrote to you about building a pc, only for gaming, and thx to some help i managed to build it. It’s a 2200$ pc, but the last problem is, I don’t know which monitor to choose, and i know this question is old, but i can't find an answer to it.

I want to know your opinion about which monitor to choose: TM 144 Hz, IPS or 4k resolution.
i have found the following monitors.
TM 24: ASUS 24" VG248QE - 3D Ready (90LMGG001Q022B1C-)
TM 27: Acer 27" XB270HA - NVIDIA G-Sync (UM.HB0EE.A01)
4K: Samsung 28" U28D590DS 4K
IPS: BenQ 27" GW2765HT - IPS

I usually play league, but i also like to play games like ASS, and I am not playing competitive, only casual.

So the question is: should i get the 144hz screen, or will it be a useless? If not TM, should i pick IPS or 4k?

I hope you can clear my mind, because I can't imagine how important 144hz is, neither how much better IPS colours are.

Thank you in advantage, and i hope some of you have some experiences about the differences :)

Solution
Yeah, that will work well with 1440p high to ultra, medium to high with 4k. If you're going to SSD and HDD, I'd get the 840 evo and WD black 1-2TB.

Thank you very much, the BenQ 27 was also on my list :)

How much will it take to run a 4k screen? It has a 4Ghz processor and KFA2 GeForce GTX 980 SOC - 4GB GDDR, so how much more will a 4k take?

With that build, you can run it right now but only on low to medium and maybe, just maybe high settings on 4k, but you won't get close to 60 fps with just 1x 980. If you wanna guarantee 60 fps at 4k, you'd need 3-4 GPUs.

But the BenQ is only 60hz, so if i take this for the best graphis, there wont be any problems with running ultra, with a single 980?

Oops, lol, for some reason I keep thinking of 144Hz, been reading other threads like 2 min ago, sorry. But you said you're a casual gamer, so a 144Hz monitor won't be much use to you. You might be able to run 1440p ultra with no problems with just 1x 980, maybe some games but maybe not all, I'll check.

okay, then i wont buy a 144hz. I don't want to buy a monitor i cant use at its max. then i rather want an IPS with a good graphic.
thank you very much for the great assistance :)
