Hello everyone

i currently have corsair vengeance 4gb 1600mhz and i want to upgrade

should i buy corsair vengeance 8gb 1600mhz or hyperx 8gb 1866mhz or hyperx 8gb 1600mhz (almost same prices)

if i buy hyperx 1800mhz then i have to throw my current RAM right?

if i buy hyperx 1600mhz then will it be compatible with my current RAM?

Solution
No guarantees when mixing DRAM - even with packages of the same exact model, best to get a songle package of the full amount you want/need 😉
I disagree as it is always a lottery when you try and match RAM that was not bought as a set and there is no way of knowing if it will work until you try it.

Obviously buying the exact same RAM (brand, model, speed, latency and voltage) increase your chance that it will work but even then there is still no guarantee.

Clearly there are no guarantees, but one stands a better chance if going for the same kit. Quite a good chance actually.

Just wanted to make OP aware that there is a chance of it not working before they made the purchase. If you can buy from AMazon or similar company with good return policy then it would be a good idea to do so just in case it does not work and you need to return it.

hey mate i tried overclocking through bios

it said "overclocking failed please change settings" so i changed back to 1600

My specs
AMD A10 7850k
Asus A88XM-A motherboard
corsair vengeance 4gb 1600mhz ram
Zotac gtx 950
corsair vs 450

Unless you are gaming on integrated graphics, don;t bother with overclockin the RAM as you will not see any real world difference. On teh other hand, if you are, then get a 2 stick kit(8 or 16) of the fastest ram you can afford and use just that.
