I just built a new computer with a 7600x, 32 gb of ram at 6000 cl30, MSI RTX 4080 non OC, with an m2 and 2.5 ssd. I already preordered an MSI A1000G PCIE5 for 200$ but I just saw that a local store has a Thermaltake GF3 1350w for 245$. Should I just wait for the MSI A1000G or should I get the Thermaltake? I don't want my computer to explode so I want to go with the safest and best quality. For suggestions, please make sure that the PSU has the new 12VHPWR connector and doesn't cost more than 250$

This one is just a specs review, no actual testing, why I left the 1200W version.

1350W is overkill, you could get away with something like a Corsair RM850x or RM1000x and just purchase the native 12VHPWR adapter cable for example.

Unless your CPU upgrade is a 400W Epyc, don't see that becoming a problem. Not sure what Sapphire rapid will bring, but it is likely to be somewhere in that range.

Still a 320W GPU doesn't need 1000W overhead.

I am using an RM850x to power a 350W 3080Ti. CPUs while gaming don't use that much, maybe 60W, 100W if you overclock it. Sure your full benchmarks will consume the max from a late model CPU of like 220W, but even then you are well within a sub 1000W PSUs tolerance.

No such thing as too much for a single rail as long as it is designed for it. It could have 2kW, but at that point it would need a heck of a circuit in your house though (dedicated even)

For the money I would pick up a Corsair HX, AX, or RMx supply and get the cables. I've had CWT made Thermaltake in the past and had no issues, but I haven't used one in a while. I had a 700W and a 1050W from them. But I was also powering dual 244W cards back when PCIe power connectors were still advertised as 'New'

I will upgrade to a 8800x3d or 9800x3d in a couple of years, usually 3d versions consume less power than their non 3d counter parts. Not expecting neither of those models to surpass 220w but only time will tell. I'm keeping the 4080 for the next 5 years at least hopefully, so I should be around 700w for the next 5-7 years which is what I'm hoping to keep the pc for. I don't want to get any psu without the 12vhpwr because first, I can't find the cables in stock, second, I don't like the reviews I saw for those cables, because they are missing the 4 sensing pins. I'm already spending a bunch of money on the pc so I want to have something that's supposed to work properly.
