Help choosing the perfect Apple computer for music production

Hey everyone, I would like some help with choosing the perfect Apple computer for music composition/producing. I’m asking for help because I am looking at the 2018 Mac Mini and it’s looking really promising. My issue is I don’t know if I can get by with the i3 in the base model for $800 or if I should just go with the i5 for $1099. I’m hoping I can get by with the $800 base model because I still need to buy software (I have keyboards and mice so hardware is all set). Again, I’m using it for music production only. Any suggestions? Obviously the more I spend the better but I really wanna know if I can get by with the base model. Thanks!

Why does it have to be a Mac? You can get double performance for the same price as a PC. And easy and quantifiable upgrades.

I'm running Ableton Live on an i3 till i get my new build up and running.

Corwin65, thanks for your response! I actually would prefer a Mac because I’ve only used Logic Pro and I’ve tried other programs and I found I only like Logic, so I’m stuck using a Mac in this case.
