Ill try to give as much info off the bat but IM not tech savy.
I ave had my current desktop for about 1.5-2.0 years> About 3 months ago my computer started feezing/locking up. It would either freeze up everything except for the mouse which I could still move and see the cursor. If I clicked randomly like 4 plus more times then I would get a full freeze and other times it would just freeze on the screen. I didnt change anything when it was working to when it started freezing except my screen resolution because Warcraft 3 and many MS-DOS games wouldn't run on a 1920x1080 however I changed the res after the crashes.. Im lost because it just started happening one day, twice so far as im typing right now..

What I have tried/troubleshot so far: Cleaning all my fan vents etc, always in a well ventilated area, uninstalled video card drivers and re-installed them, checked all drivers/programs/windows which are all up to date, defrag, disk cleaup, virus sweeped.

Computer Specs:
Win 7 Home Premium, Service pack 1, 4GB Instal mem (RAM), 64 bit operating system, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @3.30 GHz 3.30 GHz, graphics card (2) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti, running video to my JVC model lt-46p510 [120 hz]

Thats really all I know how to check for the specs. I would love someone to help me figure this out. I think if this keeps up I might have a (Office Space destroy fax machine) kind of meltdown with my comp. Figured out specs

Huiluna20 I tried what you said but comp still freezes the same. Dont know why but for some odd reason. The only and I mean ONLY thing that seems to, by all accounts, fix the issue was by lowering my desktop resolution from 1020 x 1080 to about 1200 x 720. I cant recall if Ive had a crash or not at lease off he top of my head.

However I want the root cause not just a band-aid. TV specs are above and the screen resolution table displays as follows
Display: 1. FPDUS-P510
Resolution: 1600 x 900
Orientation: Landscape

Well no not necessarily. When 1020 res it is not if - but when a freeze will happen. With the middle to lower screen sizes its more random and sometimes doesnt happen. I also been noticing that before it happens my "mouse pointer" on screen will like lag I guess, sometimes its looks like it when with the bar or it will freeze on the "hand" icon
