Help Computer wont boot

My computer was working ok but suddenly one day I start it up, the bios screen shows (where u can press F1 and access the bios) and then it gets stuck in the black screen with nothing in it, just a flashing white underscore. Any ideas?

Try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute).

I have a clear cmos button in the mobo.. i guess it does the same effect?
