So, I changed my ram from 2x4gb to 2x8gb, both sets ddr3 1600. After replacing the RAM, when I hit the power button, the computer will turn on for about 1 minute, then turn off, then on for another minute and so on. Nothing appears on my monitor during this process. I swapped back to the 2x4 and I'm getting the same problem. does anyone know what the problem could be?

Give some hardware specs, like which cpu, motherboard and ram (not just 16gb,but what maker model or partnr) you're talking about.

To make the old ram work again maybe you need to do a clear cmos, take the motherboard battery off the board for a few minutes with the pc totally of the power,so the cable out of the wallsocket, and after that put it back in again.

Could be a handful of reasons. Maybe the RAM isn't compatible with the motherboard currently in your computer or it is faulty. Getting an idea of what your internal specs and what type of RAM you have will help people direct you or maybe even solve the situation.
