Help Configuring ASRock A770DE+ Motherboard

Well, I need some help figuring out whether the power supply or video card is ready to retire. I purchased an ASRock A770DE+ AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard to replace my old one for the slightly the same problem I have now.

Main Problem: Monitor does not receive signal from PC (motherboard or graphics card). The graphics card connected to the monitor is Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS which is connected to the the AsRock A770DE+ motherboard. In addition, holding power button does not cause automatic shutdown (that could be cause I did not even get to the BIOS although I'm no expert).

New Problemroblem metioned above, and the HDLED doesn't turn on. The configuration for the system panel header was a bit confusing since the motherboard panel is missing some space for the Power Button Switch.

Previous Problem: Problem mentioned in Main Problem, and the optical-mouse and keyboard did not receive any signal.

I made the assumption that it wasn't the power supply since all the fans and the PC are running normally (not an expert though). Also, I assumed it's not the RAM since it's very unlikely that both memory sticks I have went bad (tested both separately).

Question: Should Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS run fine on the ASRock A770DE+ motherboard? If it's not compatible, what you do you folks recommend is the best graphics card for a gamer using this Motherboard?

3. Did you install the standoffs under the motherboard?
9. Did you remove the plastic guard over the CPU socket?
11. Are there any bent pins on the motherboard/CPU?
17. Did you install the system speaker?
18. Did you read the instructions in the manual on how to properly connect the front panel plugs?

Copied these for testing.

3: I am not sure going to double check.

9: I don't think mine brought any plastic guard since I didn't see it in the instructions either.

11. Wouldn't know about bent pins on this motherboard since this is my 1st time buying from this brand/maker.

17. Is it really necessary? I don't think this motherboard has it (using external speaker work too?).

18. The Antec 300 has a weird Power LED switch that takes up 3 pin spaces even though it only has 2 pins. I had to switch it with the HD LED (which has an extra space like if it was meant for PWR LED) since it took up one of the Power Switch Button's pin slot. Now HD LED is not responding (didn't check before the switch).

Also, any idea if the graphics card is compatible? I really don't want to invest on buying a new one, and it turns out it was the PSU or vice-versa.

assumig that 2 atx connector in following by 5 cpu fan i in then 6 memory module are in yellow slot after 8 the atx connector i in then 19 chassis fan,then 23 system panel header the last one 36 power fan connector.use the manual from page 23 to 28 for all the connectors on the board.finally use the board manual for bios settings

Reading the manual was the 1st thing I followed for getting the PC running. I was hoping someone here had experience with this motherboard to tell me if it's compatible with Nvidia Graphic Cards.

It was a power supply failure.

I have this mobo too and my case also has 3 pins for PLED. (PLED+, space in the middle, PLED-) the A770DE+ only has 2 pins for PLED; how did you solve for this?
