My Toshiba satellite L355D-S7825 is not wanting to connect to the internet. It says it's connected to an unidentified network and it doesn't get internet. At the bottom right of the screen it shows two blue computer screens. Other devices in the house can connect but this computer won't. It's running windows vista and it's a 32-bit

You can get an external WiFi card all over. Could start with Amazon, or even Walmart.

It would connect to the computer via the USB port. So you would have to be careful about not leaving it connected when say moving the device, or where it could get hit by something. Could cause to much damage that way. And most of them come with simple software, if needed, for installation. Some don't need any. :)

Here is a quick search on Amazon... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=lp_13983791_nr_p_n_feature_keywords_0/153-5962373-6039569?fst=as%3Aoff&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A541966%2Cn%3A172504%2Cn%3A490499011%2Cn%3A13983791%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_three_browse-bin%3A6011969011&bbn=13983791&ie=UTF8&qid=1488587218&rnid=6011967011
Try this....

First, make sure your laptop is 'not' connected to the modem/router via an Ethernet cable and follow the steps:

1. Go to "Control Panel".

2. Next go to "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing".

3. Now click on "Manage Wireless Networks".

4. On this screen, remove all wireless connections by "right clicking" on it and select "Remove network" from the drop down menu.

5. After doing this, close the open windows and reboot the computer.

6. Once the computer is fully reloaded, scan for the "Wi-Fi networks".

7. Click on the available network that you want to access and select "connect".

8. It takes a moment, but then you will be asked to give a password for your Wi-Fi connection. Type in the password and click the "connect" button.

It should now be connected.

NOTE: If this doesn't work, you may want to reset your modem/router, and then once it is fully loaded again, repeat the above steps.

If this doesn't work, test seeing if your laptop will connect via Ethernet. If so, then your WiFi card may be going. You can either look to replace it/have it replaced, or get an external (plugs in via USB) WiFi card.

Sadly, this did not work it still says the same thing and I tried the Ethernet thing and it didn't work either. Where would I be able to get an external wifi card and how does that work?
