HELP! Desktop Build

I'm thinking about building my own desktop. I want to build a gaming PC that also will be just the "home computer" I picked out what i think i want and need.
-Someone please tell me if this will work and be able to run games at fairly decent graphics and frame rates. I'm not looking for the best, just something getting over 30-40 fps on medium to high settings for as cheap as possible. Im also keeping in mind that I might slowly upgrade these parts after this is built Any suggestion are wanted.

* CPU is quad core and pretty good for the $. It is also unlocked, so later down the line you can OC it and get more performance out of it, if you need/want to.
* Mobo is good and has lots of options for the $.
* RAM is 1600 mHz @ CAS 9 timings and runs at stock voltage of 1.5v (it's also a Dual Channel set, so you get the best performance over just a single stick)
* GPU is good for Medium/High settings on most games and is budget friendly, depending on your monitor resolution.
* Case is good for the $.
* PSU is plenty for this build.

What is your monitor resolution, BTW?

This might be a dumb question, but im new to this, if i want 4Gb of RAM do I have to use 2 x 2Gb or can I use one 4 Gb stick of RAM

About the monitor.... I have an older monitor that would work but its not very good at all. I'm going to get a new monitor hopefully. (I have a laptop right now) I'm not sure what to get though. I haven't looked into it much yet.

You can use 1 stick, but lose out in the "Dual Channel" option for the memory so you lose a bit of performance (which is why I selected 2 x 2 gb set).

As far as monitors go, I would strive to get a 1920 x 1080 (1080p as it's called) resolution LCD. They generally are around $90-150 on sale from Newegg/Amazon/etc. The only thing that I'd make sure with the new monitor is that it has the ports that you want (VGA, DVI, HDMI, Display port, etc). When you buy most monitors they only come with a power cord and usually one maybe two types of cables, usually DVI or VGA.
