Hello,
I've been trying to diagnose the issue with my PC for months, and I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong with it. I think either the CPU or the motherboard is dying, but I don't want to replace either until I get an expert opinion.
I've been getting frequent crashes, at least 1 every hour of use. Sometimes the system will just freeze entirely, no BSOD, and will require a hard reset. Other times any of the following BSODs will occur: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER, BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER, APC_INDEX_MIXMATCH, INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. There may be more but that's all I have written down. This can happen at any time, whether it's right after boot, just sitting on the desktop, or gaming. There's no issues with frame rate or performance up to the crash.
I've tried running every diagnostic, updated/rolled back all the drivers, reinstalled windows, etc. The first thing I replaced was the RAM, which had no effect. I also replaced my HDD with an SSD, since my HDD was going on 10 years old and it was time to update anyways. Today I ran Hot CPU Tester Pro for the first time, and for the first time I have gotten a reproducible result. Every time I try to run it I get a (random) BSOD about 20% into the first test (Complex Matrix test). Is this definitely the CPU, or could it be the motherboard?
System:
Windows 10
AMD FX-8320E Eigth Core Processor
ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 Motherboard
Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB SSD
Radeon R9 380
ADATA XPG V1 DDR3 1600MHz (PC3 12800) 16GB (8GBx2) Memory Modules
Thank you,
