Help Diagnosing RAM Memory Failure when Memtest86 fails to find a error

My ram seems to be constantly failing I have BSODs almost every day, and have the occasional issues where the system will not even boot to BIOS and I have to rearrange the memory configuration by taking out the sticks and replacing them in different slots. However when I check the memory for faults using memtest86 (bootable memory diagnostic software), I don't get any errors even when I have completed the standard test for several passes.


Today, I upgraded my system from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and as I was going through the Inital configuration wizard, my system crashed. and since then, It has been unable to progress past the windows 10 loading screen.

I was wondering whether there was another way I could isolate why the RAM is failing and whether it is just one faulty RAM stick or all of the RAM sticks (4x4GB DDR3 configuration), and whether I should just upgrade or try and get them fixed - I believe there is a lifetime warranty.

There is also the possibility that the RAM is overheating, however I don't know to test this... and the possibility it is the mobo, however I am very skeptical.

it should be stated that when initially built the computer, there were no problems whatsoever for at least the first year.

Hi, I've had the same issue I know this sounds crazy but it was the HDD! Is your HDD seagate?

unfortunately, I don't have a seagate drive - I have an ssd as my primary drive and two HDDs, but the BSODs and memory errors still occur when I disconnect the hard drive sata cables from the motherboard

I can move the OS from SSD to HDD, however, I believe making one of the HDDs the primary drive would cause a lot of registry entries and shortcuts to files/folders to return as 'directory not found'; moving the OS would change the letter of the HDD it is transferred to. I have lots of registry entries and shortcuts linking to both of the HDD drives.

How would moving the OS help with my situation?

Mobo: Asrock Z68 Pro-3m;

CPU: Intel i7 2600K

DRAM: Team Elite DDR3 1333MHz (more details in initial description)

GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 770

PSU: ThermalTake Litepower 700

I haven't tested the PSU (can do so using Multi-meter), however as the system works nominally for at least an hour before crashing, I thought it was probably not the PSU.
