[HELP] Display issues

I just picked up a new Asus monitor from bestbuy. Im thinking it migjt be defective but im not sure. Its the MX279H 27 inch ips monitor. Basically when im watching a movie or playing a game the charactera on my screen get outlined in red, green or blue. Its not lines accross my screen. Also some shadows appear purple. Ive tried the monitor on two comouters each one had the same issue.

Amd fx-8120
Nvidia gtx 770
Ga-990fxa-ud3 motherboard
16 gb ram

Well, if the issue is reproducible, then the monitor is the problem and you should return it.
