Just got all my parts for my first build and the computer only recognised 4GB of Ram instead of 6GB

Full parts list is
i7 920 D0
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
OCZ Platinum 1600 3x2GB
Corsair 850TX
EVGA GTX 285
WD 6401AALS
Vista home premium 64 bit

This happens in the bios, in memtest and in windows vista 64-bit when I have the DIMMS in A1,B1,C1 (orange slots)

After some playing, I realised it wouldn't boot with a single dimm in A1, but would boot with B1 or C1. All 3 dimms work individually in B1.

Managed to get 6GB showing by placing the Dimms in B2,B1 and C1. Ran memtest on the 6gb in this way for the whole day with no errors.

Also tried a bios reset and update to 0406 but no change.

Does this mean I have a faulty motherboard?

Is there anything else to try?
