HELP!!! Document Trouble!

I was transferring my paper to a Flash Drive, when suddenly it messed up and my paper disappeared!!! What do I do?! I can't find it in the recycle bin!!! And I can't open it where it was saved in Microsoft Word!! I need that paper! Someone please help!
