Archived from groups: alt.games.half-life.counterstrike (More info?)
Hi,
Hope some one can help as my son's now doing our heads in! LOL
His computer HD died spectacularly yesterday which ment he's lost all his
Programs. In particular his counterstrike game. So far ive managed to get
all the stuff back but i cannot find any reference to counterstrike on any
of his Half life disks He has 4 of them so i think that's the full set
before half life 2?
Steam is on but when i click on the my games counterstrike and all the
others are darkened out saying the game is not there. Ive seen i can
download it but at over 800Mb on a dial-up i could go insane before that
finishes.
Anyway my question is ..Is there a site where i can download just the
counterstrike.GFC? file from as i know that's only around 50 odd meg.
Ive tried using the file from Half life 2 in the steam apps folder but they
are for 'source which uses a different engine from the older version he was
using with his clan.
Any help appreciated as he has a match on tonight at 7.30 so if i can get
the thing running i might get some peace and quiet???? As a fail safe he has
got use of someone else's computer for the match but im sure he would prefer
to use his own.
