Was just looking at some stuff on my router, and saw that "DSL Line Speed" is "up 511kbps" and "down 7671kbps"
Does this mean that it can achieve that download speed, or is rated for that download speed, or what ?
Can someone explain this please
just copy'n'pasted the table

DSL (Sync) Summary
System Uptime 24:24:08
Modem DSL(Sync) uptime 1:26:45

DSL Line Speed

down 7671 kbps

Line Attenuation
up 14.5
down 25.0
SN Margin

down 13.8
Total Errors Seconds 1

that is what your ISP has provisioned the modem for. you may or may not be able to actually attain those speeds. you can test your speeds at:

http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
and

I know for sure I cannot attain those speeds, up until a few days ago, I was getting about 180kb/s. But then the internet died completely, and they fixed it (took them about a week) and now I'm getting about 600-700kb/s.
