Help. esata cable wont fit into esata port

Hi,

The cable for my e-sata drive doesn't fit into the e-sata port on my new case. Any ideas as to why?

I have an e-sata pci card from my old machine that I could add to the new system, but one of the reasons I bought this case was because it already had the port on it and I wanted to save the pci slot for something else.

Do I have an outdated cable or a totally mismatched drive and port?

Is your case port e-sata I or e-sata II? Your drive is e-sata II.

How can I tell? Everything I find on the Lian-Li specs just says e-sata x1, it doesn't specify if it's sata I or II, though since this is a new case with USB 3 I expected it would be e-sata II.

Thanks. this helped me determine that there are only I-type and L-type e-sata connectors. I have the I-type and after some close inspection and much more force that should be necessary i was able to get the cable to fit the port. The drive was recognized and is operating fine.

Thanks. this helped me determine that there are only I-type and L-type e-sata connectors. I have the I-type and after some close inspection and much more force that should be necessary i was able to get the cable to fit the port. The drive was recognized and is operating fine.
