Help!!! Ethernet Cable not in Network sharing center

Help!!! Recently i have built a computer using Win 7 home premium and Maximus V gene and when i connect an ethernet cable into my ethernet port on my MB it is not registered at all!!!!! I want to know how to fix this so i can play some gamezzz

yep that was the problem, the drivers gave me errors and then they installed fine
