Hey everyone so I'm at the point where I'm ready to upgrade to either the 1070 or 1080 but until I have the money together for it I'm looking into overclocking my GPU just to see what o can get out of this card before I ditch it. It's just the base card no special cooling. I currently have msi afterburner and valley benchmark as my software any other software I should use or you recommend? And what wattage can I put into this thing I would love some help! Thanks guys.

Solution
You cannot damage your card using a utility like msi afterburner. You could only hurt it with writing custom bios. Pull the slider for voltage all the way up and get the core clock as high as it will go.
