Help external HDD issue

hey everybody so i am having issues with my external hdd thought it was the usb port so i bought a new case but still no luck

i plug device in and it installs but it dose not show up in my computer it shows up in devices and printers as usb mass storage with no other info it also shows in device manager and disk manager as but has no info what so ever only option i have is to change letter

shows in disk managment as removable d no media

i have files on here i want to keep

Hi there newbiechris,

In my view, you will need to attach the HDD internally and see whether you will be able to access the drive. This way, you will rule out possible enclosure/cable/driver related issues. See how it is recognized in Disk Management. You may need to use some data recovery tool.
