Help! Here's what led me to this situation. After I installed the DetonatorXP drivers and attempted to run Quake III which I have on my second hard disk as D:, it caused my computer to freeze up. Eventually, all other options not working, I was forced to use the restart switch on the case. When I got back into Windows, it seems my D: partition is dead. The partition is listed as Unformatted, and the Linux partitions on the hard disk seem fine.

I coincidentally backed everything up about a month ago, but would really rather be able to get my current data back before having to restore it from the backup.

Am I out of luck?

Actually, I just fixed it. :)
Seems with FAT32, a backup of the boot sector is automatically made. All I had to do was manually replace the damaged one with the backup using microsoft's Dskprobe utility.
