Hello, I have an old Asus Q87M-E motherboard with an i5-4670, and GTX 1060 using 4 sticks of DDR3 4G on all 4 slots, for a total of 16G of RAM using Windows 10 LTSC. Some of the sticks are failing, and I want to upgrade to 32G of RAM if possible (not a gamer, but use CAD software, browser, 3D software simultaneously).

Can you please point me in the right direction today? Is 2 sticks of 16G even possible on this motherboard/CPU combo? Is 4 sticks of 8GB better? What is the best data rate? 2600? Heck, compatibility list goes all the way to DDR3 3100. What would make more sense economically, and currently in stock right now for 32G of RAM for this system?

Thank you for any help.

Well it has a heat spreader that's good. I have had such good luck with ddr3 you should be fine with your other choice. I think I even have a set or two of that model in something somewhere.
Thanks for the help! Yeah, these G.Skills I currently have are over 10 years old, and maintained pretty badly. I'm surprise they lasted for so long, so I am going for G.Skill again :)

Since you're running Windows 10 LTSC, I assume you're employed by a large enterprise or using a computer at work. If so, I recommend passing the problem on to the IT guys in your company.

If you're not using a work computer, then your copy of Windows 10 LTSC is probably pirated. N.B. Buying an $11 key from a shady web site to unlock Windows does not mean you've got a legitimate Microsoft license to use the software. A key is not a license.

Every so often I run across some poor benighted soul who announces that they're running Windows 10 LTSC (the Long Term Servicing Channel release). The only way to get an LTSC license is with a Windows Volume License agreement, which is ... not cheap. Enterprise licenses are widely pirated. If you're running Windows Enterprise edition and you can't tell me how you got the license, there's an excellent chance your license isn't valid.
