Help finding motherboard that is compatible with Elgato 4k capture

Hey everyone so i recently purchased an elgato 4k capture card for my streaming PC. Only to get off the phone with tech support to find out that my motherboard does not have enough pcie 16x lanes to support both the capture card and a video card the gtx 1050.

This was tested multiple times with only capture card or only graphics card they work separately but not together.

the tech said that i would need a Mother board with 32 PCIE16x lanes or a motherboard that had a 4x lane

The capture card and video card should not have any problem working together on your motherboard. Just put the GTX 1050 in the top x16 slot and the capture card in the bottom x16 slot. The bottom slot is PCIe 3.0 x4.

Expansion Slots:
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (max at x4 mode)

So your 7700k has support for up to 16 PCIe lanes. If you plugged your GPU in only it would get access to all 16 lanes. however since you are plugging in the capture card it will use 4 lanes meaning that the board will split the 16x lanes from the GPU and leave 8 lanes for the GPU (which is more than enough BTW) meaning that you would be using 12 lanes out of your 16 lanes which should leave 4 lanes open. So naturally this shouldn't be an issue if you plug the cards in the way rocktalkrock says. However, some boards us PCIe instead of DMI for the SATA ports used for hard drives. and M.2 slots are either configured to use a SATA connection or PCIe lanes. Your board has two M.2 slots, the first one having the ability to use either a SATA connection or PCIe but the PCIe mode will only use up 1 lane and the second M.2 slot uses only PCIe but it only uses 2 lanes.

So I ask you, is there anything else you might have plugged into the slots on your motherboard such as M.2 storage, sound cards, network cards etc.?
