Help finding my bottleneck

Ok let me explain setup and specs so we can go ahead and get straight to the question.

Mac mini 2.3ghz i5 with 2gb of ram and 500gb HD which is getting full.

My nas box I'm still in the process of building but I needed to test it which is how I found this small problem.

Motherboard: asrock ad2700-itx
CPU: embedded intel atom 2.13ghz
Ram: 2gb ddr3
Boot drive: 80gb sata 2
Storage drive:500gb 5400rpm sata 2

I'm trying to make it as fast as possible for what I have I know the sata 2 is gonna hold it back since it's not sata 3. My nas is running widows 7 ultimate since my motherboard only supports windows 7. I'm transferring large files as in 1gb and when I transfer bulk files in a folder it can range from 20gb-175gb. Ok I'm actually using the nas box as a desktop right now in that I'm pulling the files from the ac instead of sending them to the nas box. Actually I've tried it both ways and I still have the same problem both ways. I can't seem to to get it to transfer fast. I don't know of I can go by if but when I pull files from mac it tells the transfer speed in the window and doesn't go over 11.3mb/second. I have these computers connected via a wireless routers 4 port switch and I'm only using the switch not the wireless and I'm using cat 5e. Any input would be appreciated if I've left anything out just ask. I think the bottleneck is gonna be the switch because it's only 10/100. Thanks in advance
 
And another bad problem I'm having that I've never heard of is when I transfer a movie file the quality downgrades a lot to a point it sorta looks pixelated and the file size drops also.
 
I mean I'm using my nas box as a big hard drive so when I don't want something on my mac I just connect to my nas box via go to server and type in the up of my server and it connects to it and then I can transfer my files to it. And when I go to my nas box and open a movie I just transferred it isn't the same quality as it was on my other computer it's looks pixelated.
