You should keep in mind that the dual 7970's might get you some microstutter. You could look at a pair of r9 280x's which are basically 7970's but the microstutter has been fixed.

I read somewhere that the new drivers fix this? Do you have any links I can find a few issues with micro stuttering but nothing that says r9 fixes this. also, there are a few with 7970 that say if you over clock then it sorts it out. will the boost sort it you think?

If that's the case the 7970's are just fine.

thanks. im reading a few issues on this now sorry if I sounded irate. do you have any info on the r9 fixing this. I also read that overclocking solves issue. you think boost will help?

01:34 Single monitor - microstutter has been improved (doesn't mean it has been fixed :/ )[/quotemsg]

Thanks for this. didn't realise micro stuttering was a big issue.

it has always been an ATI crossfire (and dual-gpu) issue, it also occurs with nvidia gpu's but hardly noticable
