hello
my pc right now is
gtx 770 2gb
8gb ram
fx 8350
i wanna buy a new videocard to play at 4k but i dont have enough money to buy rest of the components
is fx 8350 good enougn?

The 8350 is still weak and just upping the resolution isn't going to magically fix that. Sure at 4k you'll be amaing to get a stable 60 fps but in new games it struggles to even do that.

4k is so taxing on the gpu that the even a dual core pentium can keep it fed.

you could go with a high end gpu like a 1080 or 1080ti and then save until you can update the rest of the system. true the fx chip is rather old and WAY outdated but it should be able to keep a game fed at 4k. will be held back some for sure but not as much as some would like to pretend it will. keep in mind that cpu dependent games will still be hurt by the old fx chip, even at 4k. up to you to know what the game you want to play prefers. plenty of benchmarks out there that quickly show what game needs what.

Depends on the GPU. If you're trying to run 4K on a GTX 1060 so you're only getting like 20 fps or something, yeah you're not going to see much difference between CPUs. But no one is going to be doing that. If you choose an appropriate GPU (e.g. 1080 Ti) and graphics settings such that you should be getting around 60 fps in 4K, then you're going to run into a CPU bottleneck in any game where a 8350 can't maintain (stable) 60 fps.

Which other components? Even with today's powerful graphics cards like a GTX 1080 there isn't much difference between PCIe 3.0 vs 2.0 (which is what AM3+ has IIRC). I don't think higher resolution would increase demand on system RAM either.

ok lets say i buy the 1080 ti or the ti from the next gen will i be able to play at around 50-60 fps at high settings , maybe ultra .

1080ti: some games yes. Most AAA power hungry titles? no.
1180: it will be better but then games get more demanding.

4k also has scaling issues in general use. You need to up the scaling to see text & icons & this affects programs that aren't coded for the high DPI. Even windows & steam still cant get it right, let alone the myriad of other software one might use.

I suggest focusing on fluent performance with 1440p on a large, 30+ inch monitor.

1080 ti is more of a medium-high 4k 60fps card. However there are a good amount of games where your cpu will not allow you to hit a stable 60 fps. Bf1 is a good example of this.

i have a samsung q9 65 inch tv and maybe i can lower the resolution to 1440p ? would i be able to play at 60 fps then?

i mostly wanna upgrade for future rpg like cyberpunk 2077 , new dragon age

i was testing my friends fx 8350 with a 1080ti
i ran gta v at 4k and it was giving a whopping 55-60 fps
so playing the newest games far cry 5, state of decay 2, fortnite, battlefield 1, etc...might struggle

no, the 8350 is too weak to get ~60 fps in a lot of newer games

you would be much better off upgrading your setup completely, am3 is utterly obsolete now
