[SOLVED] Help for a beginner

Hi Guys,

To start i'm from the UK. I considered upgrading my PC around 12 months ago but never actually got around to it. Now that I have a little more time on my hands i'm looking to upgrade/start from fresh. I don't want to spend a great deal on this, maybe between 300-400 UK Pounds if possible. I don't need this build for anything major, i basically want it to be able to play Total War 3 Kingdoms and Mount and Blade Bannerlord to a good standard.

I received some advice kindly from the community a year ago which has led me to believe my best best is to keep my current SSD (boot drive) and 1TB storage drive. I'm also planning on keeping my current case as i see no problem with it and again saves money and lets me invest it in the more important components.

I'm thinking of potentially a AMD Ryzen 5 2600x, do you guys consider this a good choice?

The motherboard i'm really not sure about and theres that many GPU's on the market that i'm a bit overwhelmed with what to pick.

I recommend replacing your old, low end power supply that went out of warranty after only 2 years.

Another quick question - if i replace all of the above including the motherboard but keep the harddrive. Can i keep my OS as it is and not reset etc?

No guarantees there, you're at the mercy of the OS being able to do it's job without error.

If he can find it could he look at the Ryzen 1600AF to get the budget a little bit down in a build with dedicated gpu.
Is this one "YD1600BBAFBOX". The old one has AE in that partnr where this one says AF.
