First off, I've been coming to this site for help for a while now; never made an account because most of my answers I found. I recently purchased a Dell Dimension 3000 tower from a friend for 25 bucks, figured why not? lol I'm just curious if anyone has a custom build specification I could use; or rather, if I should sell it (if I can get my money back lol).

Windows XP (but I think it needs a reboot), 512MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive, Intel Celeron processor. >.> It's a Dimension 1100, my bad. lol

yeah.... I'd add more RAM, a bigger HDD, and make it a multiboot and sell it for a crap lot more than what you bought it for.

no. Not with the celeron. Unless you can upgrade it to an i3/i5 somehow... What socket? I am guessing LGA 775.

I got you a great motherboard which won't overheat like many others. It's has 8+2VRM that has heatsinks and it is able to crossfire as well as manage some mild overclocking.

Because the mobo is pretty good, you could hold off for a few weeks to get a real CPU cooler, but for that time the stock one will hold alright.

Now, if you need the operating system to, you are going to have settle for something small but upgradable. It could be around $500/550 and play these games at good FPS but medium settings.

Lol I forgot you had a case, I included the case in the price xD so we could upgrade you to the 8320 CPU.

Well you could save me a lot of time if you could open it up and find the dimensions of it. As it's really had to google "dimension 1110 dimensions" :lol:
