I really can't decide so I want your opinion.Which one is better for web browsing ,light gaming ,photoshop and portability ( I am a college student) .I would take the lenovo but I hear the battery is bad.I the 2 cell battery really that bad? Also about the ram I can upgrade it to 8 gb at hp laptop later.what do you think? thanks

1. I wouldn't go less than 8GB.

2. It's hard to recommend one over the other as they are oft made on the same production line using the same parts bins.

The vast majority of laptops on the market (94% in 2011) are manufactured by a small handful of Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), although their production bases are located mostly in mainland China.

Major relationships include:

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu, NEC and Neo
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, HP/Compaq and Neo
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to Dell, Acer, Lenovo and HP
Inventec sells to Toshiba, HP, Dell and Lenovo
Pegatron sells to Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Dell, Acer, and Neo
Foxconn sells to Asus, Dell, HP and Apple
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP

alright I might with the lenovo then..I didn't have any laptop before so I don't have experience but I guess the 3-4 hours would be enough for idle use in my college.
