I am building my first PC and I have been researching custom PCs for a while. I am nervous about building my own PC since I am terrified I will spend over a thousand dollars on a PC and it not work. I am making this a gaming PC, so I would also like to know if it is good for gaming. This means alot to me so thank you for reading this post. I will mainly be playing minecraft, Skyrim, and other games.

Solution
Yes it's a good build and it will work.

However, I suggest windows 8 and the only reason why I even do recommend that OS is because it will yield better fps in games like battlefield 4 and such.

I don't really play FPS games like Battlefield 4, I am getting windows 7 because I am worried about compatibility with Skyrim and older games. I have read about those games on windows 8 and there were mixed answers, so I am going with windows 7 just to be safe. Unless you have proved otherwise.

That's fine, windows 7 is still a great OS that I still prefer.

you will not see a lot improvement in gaming thats for sure , but in certain situation ...somes apps need to use the memory
to doing a specific task and the transfert rate need to be faster between the ram and cpu
so for almost the same price you can have a faster transfert rate ram .
the only thing to take care is when you overclocking ...a faster ram can give you a stability issue , but its not certified
some people had issue when they overclocked an others never had issues so??

I don't really plan on overclocking, but i'll get the i5 4690k just incase I decide to overclock. I could always buy a stronger cpu cooler later on. But if I get 2400mhz RAM, I get stability issues?
