Need advice on whether to get rid or persist fixing!

Hi all

I have a Packard Bell Easynote TK85 laptop which has broken, my own fault, working late and dropped it from a small height.

Anyway, I turned it back on & nothing appeared on the screen, it made 4 quick beeps turned itself off then on again repeating the 4 beeps sequence. The final time it stayed on but could still see nothing, fan was working but a weird clicking noise inside like an old CD player would do when changing disc.

The clicking noise is your hard drive, it's broken. They break if you drop it. You might need to buy a new laptop or a HDD. I suggest getting a SSD

Thanks for the response, is there a certain type of SSD I need to buy or will anyone work?

Nahh, all of them are good. Depends on how much you want to spend. A 128GB ssd goes up to 100 bucks! But sales come along, and you might find some with good deals. Samsung IMO is a great brand. They have the 840 pro, and the evo series. Do some shopping and looking. And compare to others on which ones you want.

It really depends on your laptops requirements, I suggest looking up your laptop specs, and see if it will support a SSD.
