Help for Upgrade

Hi!

I have a Core i5 2500 paired with a GTX 1050 ti and 8 GB of RAM.
I can either upgrade my GPU to GTX 1060 6 GB or a CPU + Motherboard bundle (I have Ryzen 1600 or i5 8400 in mind) for my next upgrade. I cant upgrade my system for 9 month from then on.
I also have a 550w Green PSU.

I just wanted to know which upgrade would benefit me the most Gaming side with the amount of FPS changes I would actually see.

I would probably go CPU For me, that is what is holding it back in my opinion
