My system's specs:
Processor - Intel Core i5 650
Ram - 2 GB x 1
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
Motherboard - Intel Desktop Series DH55PJ
Power Supply - Came with case iBall Case 250 W

I want to upgrade my graphics card, RAM(to 6 GB) and power supply (according to the usage of new GPU). I live in India and my budget is 20000 INR. Could anyone suggest what parts to upgrade to? Please keep in mind availability in India and motherboard compatibility.

Edit:
I've got 2 reasons to upgrade:
Play better games
Remove lag during multi-tasking
Stop problems related to Kernel-Power 41(63) (during load) which I think are occurring due to PSU .

Solution

CX series being Tier 3 brand, has better reviews than VS series. That would be good and run your build well+smoothly. Good luck :)

id say, 8gb of corsair vengeance 1600mhz for ur ram that should be fairly cheap.

then id say a gtx 750 ti for graphics, and maybe give it a go trying to get away without upgrading the psu.. if you want to save the money as u may be able to run off 250w with that really low power usage graphics.

if you get problems or just want to upgrade try a Corsair CS450M Modular 450W, should be quite cheap also.

that should come to around £200 which i think is similar to your 20000inr

The GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti just came out in India

The Zotac GTX 750 is 9,875 INR and the Zotac GTX 750 Ti is 12,300 INR

http://www.flipkart.com/gaming-components/graphic-cards/pr?sid=4rr%2Ctin%2C6zn&q=GTX+750&otracker=from-multi&srno=po_1&allLinkPos=popular&ref=54494e5c-4785-456c-a5bd-411052e57a6c

Is there another site you trust with your money in India, I only know Flipkart.

The cards from MSI are slightly more

Note, they are both GTX 750 Ti, I don't know why their GTX 750 is not available, yet.

Note, your processor uses 73 Watts, maximum. So I am concerned about the power supply.

A note about this "RAM(to 6 GB)"

Your motherboard has:
Two 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
Support for up to 8 GB of system memory

That means 2x1GB or 2x2GB or 2x4GB, there is no 2x3GB.

Your would not have wanted to mix the old memory and the new memory, that is just asking for problems.

Can't I just use my old DDR3 2 GB RAM stick(PC3-10700(667 Mhz)) with the new stick?

if you can get GTX 660 with almost same price of GTX 750 ti, go with GTX 660.
Coming to the ram, yes you can use that stick with another memory. With dual-rate your 2gb memory will be almost 667x2=1333mhz. So don't worry about anything, you are all good.

OK Let's say I go with the Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 4 GB PC RAM (DDR3-1333/PC3-10600). From other posts on Tom's Hardware Forum I gathered that even if I use the faster newer RAM stick with the older, the newer stick will be down-clocked to 667 MHz(My old memory speed) and the whole dual lane setup would be:
2 GB RAM(667MHz, PC3-10700) + 4 GB RAM (1333MHz, PC3-10600) = 6 GB RAM running at 667x2=1333 MHz. Am I right?
And another thing from various other posts I have realized that I may not be needing more than 1 GB Graphics memory if I have a smallish screen.......Is that true? If so for that price is ZOTAC NVIDIA GTX 750 the best? Please suggest me some 1 Gig cards which might not there on Flipkart but have come to Indian market. Do subtle differences in technology matter while buying G cards? For example, ZOTAC NVIDIA 660 Synergy edition is a bit outdated with DirectX 11.1 instead of DX 11.2 and little outdated OpenGl version. But is it better than ZOTAC NVIDIA 750 TI ?

regarding RAM, looks like you have checked ram specs through CPUZ software. In that case, your 2gb RAM of 1333MHz will be showing you the speed of 667MHz(Half the actual speed). But actually your 2gb RAM is running at 1333MHz speed in your built right now.
Coming to gpu, 2gb vram of gpu won't hurt as some games use more than 1gb even for smaller screen. Looking from performance view, GTX 660 has overtaken GTX 750ti in benchmarking. It is up to you, that you are looking for DX11.2 or leaning towards more performance.
