Help for upgrading Processor

The computer I have right now is shown below:

Processor & Memory:
AMD A6-6400K Processor 3.9GHz
8GB DDR3 SDRAM

Drives:
500GB (7200 RPM) Hard Drive
24X DVD+/-RW Dual-Layer Super-Multi Drive

Operating System:
Microsoft Windows® 7 Professional (64-bit)

Graphics & Video:
Integrated AMD Radeon HD8470D Graphics

Communications:
10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN

Audio:
Integrated High Definition 5.1 Channel Audio

Power Supply: 500 watts

I just added a gtx 750 Ti graphic card. I would like to upgrade my processor as well. Some people here recommended "Athlon x4 760k". Are there any other processors I could possibly upgrade to that would be compatible with my system. Any help is much appreciated
I am basically looking for alternatives or similar processors as the athlon x4 760k. thank you for your time.

There is an Athlon x4 740, 750k, 760k, and 860k. Any of them would be a big upgrade and the 760k and 860k are the best you can get.

if your motherboard supports FM2+ then get the 860k

if it is just FM2 then i think the 760k would work.

I would also recommend investing in a good air cooler for overclocking, as performance gains can be quite impressive with those little chips.

it Just supports Fm2

Athlon x4 760k is the best you can do. It's a decent little quad core. Pretty good for around $80.

Thats the one I had in mind too, just looking around if there are any other

if it is just fm2 then your only option is the 760k - they are just pretty much the same the 860k and the 760k just less power consumption and frequency
