[SOLVED] Help!! Formatted Hard drive, how can I recover or restore?

I Accidentally Formatted my Hard drive by using it to create a windows bootable media. I really need to recover my files all my music videos and important files are on there. Is there a way to recover all of my things accurately and if i do will the quality of my music and movie files be degraded. This is pretty urgent please help!

Are there any specific programs/software you can recommend?

Be sure to slave that hard drive to another machine. The more you WRITE to that drive, the more degraded the files will become. Partial to total loss of data would be expected. And yes, at best, you'll still have minimum file loss.

Recuva is not Finding my files, the drive is now recognized as ESD-Usb(F: ) instead of mybook G:

Right, because you formatted the wrong external drive. You need to see if the program can perform a deep scan to look for data; that can take several hours.

Worst case, you pay some data recovery firm to do it for you professionally.

As others said, you need to do a deep scan of the drive. Also don't write anything else to the drive or it will make recovering the data that much harder.

If neither of those work, you are Out Of Luck.

And if they DO find 'something'', it would be an actual miracle if everything were recovered 100% in its exact original configuration.
