I've spent all Day trying to install a SSD and fresh Install of Windows 10 I DO NOT CARE ABOUT KEEPING FILES its a blank SSD. I DO NOT NEED TO COPY any files, my HDD was Wiped clean a week ago in prep for a fresh start.

Let me tell you guys what I've already tried, see if you guys can see anything i haven't or have me elaborate on something I make mention of.

1) I've tried to fully Partition my drives fully install and then it fully installs restarts and When it hits the "Loading Operating System..." page it says "A Disc read error occurred.
2) I have played with my Sata Controllers, between both IDE Native and AHCI Nether offer me a Clean Install and Bootup.
3) I have left my Sata Controllers alone after the tweaking didn't even set them back to old setting and just plugging in old HDD and boots up just fine. and am currently using same comp to post from. Plz Help..

I have read about updating BIOs and FIRMWARE, I have herd about having to install ACHI Drivers then switch over and install. I am going to Update and Potetially outdated Firmware and BIOs and Be ready for any community feedback thanks!!

I'm guessing you are booting to your CD drive, but you didn't mention that. If you aren't booting to your Cd drive it's not going to do anything. You don't need to partition anything when you are installing a new OS. It always prompts you. Windows 10 even gives you the option to keep your data and personal files.

I can't imagine what problem you'd have. unless you damaged your drive when you were messing around in your system.

Plus you may want to stay with windows 7 or a previous version. you have old hardware. I'm not sure if your hardware will be compatible with win 10.

ENSURE YOU ARE BOOTING TO YOUR CD DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS 10 CD IN IT

Good luck,
Harry

I guess I should have mentioned I'm not running an Optical Drive. I'm Booting from USB. the Win10 USB. win10 runs fun games run fine everything runs fine with old HDD its not a win10 compatibility problem.

So I hope you are booting to your USB drive.

So does this mean you have resolved your problem the same way?

Maybe your not understanding? It finishes the Windows10 Install, it then Restarts and when it does it goes to the page that says "Loading Operating System..." then I receive the disc read error. It sounds to me unless I'm misunderstanding that you are telling me how to get it to boot up the windows installation, that is not my issue =(

Ahh I see. So It finishes the new install 100% then gives you error,
Are you removing the thumb drive after it finishes the install? There is a point during the install where it tells you to "remove your install media" or something very similar to that.

I'm pretty sure it's right after the install hits 100% it asks you to remove media (your thumb drive), then you'll have to change boot priority to your SSD that you have just installed windows to.

I haven't seen that message and it was not needed when I installed on my HDD but since SSD have no boot sectors maybe that's the simple fuck up i've been having, although I'm fairly certain at some point in my 4hr trial and error marathon I did try that, but I will try again and get back to you.

To Clarify, Should I make my SSD First boot priority then just go into my boot menu and boot though USB for the install then right when it restarts I should remove that thumbdrive What if it doesn't tell me to remove it.

If that doesn't work I'm going to attempt to clone my drive and then just use it. I'm also going to see if I can use the SSD as a secondary drive to rule out it being faulty

Installing new windows/ OS:
1. Insert OS media (your thumb drive)
2. Power on your PC and go to BIOS and set boot priority to that thumb drive.
3. Install Windows OS
4. Remove the thumb drive so the install process doesn't repeat
5. Power your PC on and go to BIOS and set boot priority to SSD that you installed the OS to.

You can always check SSD or HDD disk health by going to "disk management" It will show disk health and partitions. Like this >>>> Disk management
