Question help. Fried the Computer with RGB connectors.

was just putting together a new PC,
and decided to try to hook up the RGB from the case to the motherboard,
it had 2 cables: one the older type power connector and a small 4pin to rgb header,
as soon as i plugged them in the lights on the motherboard dimmed and I cant power up the computer anymore.
which component to I need to replace ?

my pc components:
Case: DEEPCOOL MATREXX 55 ATX Mid-Tower
Power Supply: Corsair - RMx (2018) 750 ATX
CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K
Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z390 GAMING X ATX LGA1151
memory: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB
ssd: SAMSUNG 970 EVO SSD

Probably the motherboard.

Did you have the molex connector plugged into the fan, and then plug it into the motherboard? If so you've almost certainly killed your motherboard

no, i only had cpu fan plugged in, but i had molex connector plugged for the rgb which was labled "do not plug this in when using motherboard to control rgb" ,

Was any part of the rgb system plugged into the motherboard when you plugged in the molex connector?
