HELP...GA Z87X-UD5H stuck with error code 15

Bought new motherboard GA Z87X-UD5H installed then went to run setup... powered up and noticed error code 15

Took everything out and powered up with just MOB and power and video of MOB to monitor, cannot get to BIOS, clear CMOS no difference I am now stuck for ideas... the PSU is Seasonic 760W Platinum

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Scout, thanks for your input.

Yes I understand that but.... what do you do about it ??? With only the PSU and Video connected via motherboard I cannot get to Bios Screen, the system starts up and then shuts down and starts up again. Very Frustrating

Hi Scout,

I received an email from Gigabyte which contained instructions to redo Bios Setup. Following these instructions I did mange to at least get to the Bios Screen, Started to install Windows 7, but the DVD Drive suddenly started to speed up and then the "Blue Screen of Death" saying Bios needs upgrading etc. I now have to send details to Gigabyte my Bios version is F3 they are now up to F9. So we will have to see what they come up with, hopefully good news.... will keep you posted

try to have the motherboard rma and ask them to send you one with the latest bios .

I had thought of that and will go on Thursday afternoon, the problem is, it is a 4 hour turnaround journey a real pain.

What is rma ???

HI everyone, took the board back to the supplier, they checked it over and found the socket base was slightly out of alignment and also this forced the CPU to sit a bit wonky, the socket was damaged. New board in my hands.

I have a GA-Z87X-UD5H. I had a similar experience with different cause. I installed with a Seidon 120M water cooler. PC would not start up. Ran a few seconds then shutdown. Repeated this until I turned off power. Saw error code 15.
I had connected the pump to CPU_OPT and the radiator's fan to CPU_FAN. I reversed these connections. Same problem. I then removed the 120M cooler and install the stock retail fan[i7 4770k CPU]. It worked. I am in correspondence with Seidon. No resolution yet. Of course I want to use my water cooler system.

Problem Solved[see below]. PC boots now.
I re-installed 120m Pump & radiator's fan.
Connected pump to CPU_OPT connected radiator's fan to CPU_FAN.

SOLVED
PC booting. I removed retail CPU Fan. Re-installed Pump. Connected PUMP to CPU_OPT Radiator FAN connected to CPU_FAN as you posted. THANK YOU

Re: Code 15: Previously, when PC would not boot-
No code was displayed before or after "15". Manual indicates "Regular Boot"[codes] "15" = "Pre-memory North Bridge initialization is started."

If I still had a the problem, how would that information help me debug the no-boot condition?

plugging in sata power to mobo fixes it.
