Help ... game won't start in full screen mode!

Been playing UT for years and all of a sudden when I start the game it won't
come up in full screen. The monitor goes black and says the signal
frequency is out of range and to reset the timing. When I hit F12 to bring
up the game in a box, it starts up but I can't get it to play in full
screen. What gives???

Any help would be appreciated!

*) What OS are you using?
*) What version of the game do you have?
*) Have you tried the following already?
1. Clean your cache.
2. Make sure you exit _all_ unneeded background programs.
3. Download AdAware and run & upgrade it regularly.
4. Switch to OpenGL.
5. Defragment your harddisk every week.
6. Make sure you run the latest official version of UT and/or 2K3.
7. Upgrade all your drivers to the latest version.
8. Re-install DirectX.
9. If you have a Via MoBo, install the 4-in-1 drivers.

Especially #4 might be interesting to you.

It sounds like either some setting got changed about your vid
card and/or your .ini file settings have gotten changed somehow.
I would first try looking at all of my vid card settings, then
if you have not tampered with any of the *Default* ini files,
delete the UnrealTournament.ini file and the game will make
you a new default ini file when you start a new game. If you
have changed *any* of the settings in *any* of the *Default* ini
files then you may be looking at a reinstall of the game IMHO.
