Hi there , I have had this old girl of a system for a long time, still runs all the games I play at 2K.

Specs are :

I7 4790K @ 4.6GHZ
Noctua DH14 (Beast)
Asus Hero Maximus VI Board
32 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 2400
Hall of fame 980TI
Crucial 6gbps ssd (OS)
Toshiba 6gbps ssd (For games)

So i was looking at getting an NVM SSD to put my OS on. and was aware that my board doesnt have the slots
So I purchased these below

Akasa AK-PCCM2P-0 M.2 SSD to PCIe Adapter Card + Heatsink Cooler, PCIe Gen3 x16 Slot, Low Profile, 1U Chassis Compatible $6UTRT
1TB WD Blue SN550, M2 (2280) PCIe 3.0 (x4) NVMe SSD, 2400MB/s Read, 1950MB/s Write, 410k/405k IOPS

Fitted this in to a PCI-e slot and followed went to install O/S using the rufas tool and guide etc
The drive shows up in windows (and in windows setup) , but even when I install OS on to it (takes like 3 mins wow) the bios doesn't find it.

Is there something that I am missing ?
I was planning on having my OS on the faster drive, but if not I will install my games on it until I upgrade properly.
Thanks in advance
