I was inserting the GPU into my motherboard (z390 gaming x) and the pci clip wouldn't make the "click" noise when I was pushing down. The graphics card looked slanted, so I removed the GPU. When I removed my GPU to try and insert it again, the clip broke off. Now when I try to put the GPU into place, I can't get it to insert correctly and it is crooked. I'm scared to apply too much force, but I've applied the same amount that made one end go in just fine. What should I do? This motherboard has given me problem after problem.

The clip that makes the "click" noise when you insert your GPU into the PCI slot. I put it in, it didn't look right, so then I took it out and the clip broke off. The clip on the MOBO, nothing broke off of my GPU.
:(
That...
Well, if the motherboard manufacture will take it, then send it to them.
It should not break from just one GPU reinstall.
Otherwise, you'll probably either need to take it to a professional or get a new motherboard.

Other forums online have suggested that if the clip breaks you can still use your gpu just fine.

The MOBO manual says to put it in that slot, but if I put it in another slot will it mess up the performance?
