Help! GPU doesn't fit securely in case (Thermaltake V3 Black Edition)

Hi all, my mom's computer is in a Thermaltake V3 Black edition. The GPU is basically only attached by the PCI-E port and not to the case becuase it won't fit. The PC always crashes and screws up the image on screen before it crashes (like distorts it for a sec before blue screen). Am I missing something for the case? It's not the GPU because I compared its size to my own GPU.

Ok, so the GPU is in the PCI-E slot, but is able to wiggle slightly. The pins confirming that the GPU is in the slot are all together in a line, but the line only goes to the middle of the thing, not all the way to the top. I have managed to secure it with a rather long screw into the bracket, but I'm not sure if this will fix it. Is it the mobo or the gpu PCI-e slot that is messing it up? The little bayonet or whatever at the end of the gpu is able to go inbetween the mobo and the case, but the PCI-e slot prevents the place where you screw it from reaching the bracket of the case

Sometimes the VGA port on the back prevents the video card from falling into place. If that is the case you must first place the GPU bracket where it should be and then push the card down into the slot. Some slots have some kind of lock in the front that can cause problems if it is locked before you install the card.
I am really not sure if my explanations are clear enough.

Thanks for trying to help! I appreciate it entirely. However, I did jiggle the bracket into place before slotting it into the PCI-e slot, but it still doesn't quite fit. I screwed the mobo on even tighter, it helped, but it's not solved yet.

It should be pushed down until where the red line is is touching the PCIe slot. NO gold should be showing.
