I was recently trying to put a gtx 470 into a 2012 computer I found at a thrift store. When I use integrated graphics, it works fine with 3 different monitors but when using the 470 I get the error message show in the title. I've tried using a dvi to vga and dvi to dvi cable, along with making sure the 3 monitors I tested it with where taking input from the right place each time. I've tried reseating the ram and cleaning it and the gpu. Its a Gateway DX 4870 motherboard (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gateway-DX4870-Intel-Motherboard-IPIMB-AR-REV-1-02A-DB-GDQ11-001-Win8-/182098295898). It also has a i3-2130 and I upgraded the ram to 8 gigs recently. Anyone know what I could do to fix this?

A friend let me use their computer to install the 470 into and it worked so I think it was probably a motherboard issue, thanks for helping :)
