So I did a windows backup of my HDD as I was going to wipe it of all its data. I then wiped it thinking all my game files and data would be backed up.
I then installed an SSD and a fresh install of windows 7 on there.
I then re-installed the now wiped HDD and restored files from the backup from the external device but i did not realise that it did not backup any of the program files x86 data etc, and only the user files data.
I now only have the odd bits of game data and files that were dumped in "my documents and my games" in my old user section.
How do I get steam to recognise these game files?
Have I lost any saved game data because the steamapps file wasn't backed up as part of the process?
Will I have to reinstall all the games again?
(my thinking was I want some games like skyrim and GTAV on the SSD and the others on the hard drive.)
