my specs
cpu: AMD FX-9370
motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
graphics cards:
Card 1: EVGA GTX 970 super super clocked acx 2.0
Card 2: EVGA GTX 970 super clocked acx
power: 800 watts
please help, my computer recognises both cards and i can run a monitor off of the second one, but there is never an option in nvidia control panel to sli when i have the cable on, i have tried 2 diffrent cables and neither work.

ok. these types of problems usually happen because the drivers didn't install propperly.

uninstall anything and everything with the word nvidia in it.
uninstall your gpu from the device manager
download the latest whql drivers from nvidia.
power down your pc.
take out the bottom gpu
power on your pc.
install the latest nvidia drivers.
reboot your pc
make sure everything works
power down your pc
pull out the top gpu, and put the 2nd gpu back in, in the BOTTOM slot (where it will sit in an SLi setup)
power on the pc
make sure the pc installs the display drivers propper for your 2nd gpu, check that it has install the nvidia drivers for your display adaptor, if it does not do it automatically you'll need to install your display adaptor again
power down your system
put the top gpu back into the top slot
connect your SLi bridge
power back on your pc
enter the nvidia control pannel
enable SLi

this should do it. if it's not working at this point then i would make sure your motherboard bios is updated, and your motherboard chipset drivers are updated, i would also try a 2nd SLi connector to make sure its not the connection cable

somewhere in doing all these steps it will work, if it does not you'll probably have a failure along the line that will tell us more about the problem

ok so it didn't work, still no SLI option in the control panel, although my computer still sees both cards plugged in
i noticed that since i have a long sli cable it is a little lose and can move around a little. but i still have no idea what to do at the moment.
